Jesse Triplett
Orientation Coordinator
Hello World! I'm Jesse Triplett (yes it's my real last name!) and I'm co-coordinating with the wonderful Shelly Jin this year for the incoming class of 2015. I'm a rising junior in Applied Mathematics (which you should already know as course 18!) I was born and raised in Nevada County, CA (we had the name before the state of Nevada existed!) It's in the mountains so I'm used to snow Boston throws at us, but the change from trees to buildings was new for me.
Around here you can see me doing something in just about every part of campus. I'm heavily involved with theater here at MIT, performing in three shows this past year in addition to acting (tee hee) as the current Vice President and Social Chair of Dramashop. I also play a wide variety of IM sports including: volleyball, indoor and outdoor soccer, waterpolo, basketball, badminton, ultimate frisbee, and the occasional game of dodgeball. I'm pretty bad at most of them, but I have lots of fun and encourage everyone to play IM's while they're here! Since I'm also known to join just about every event people invite me to do, you'll often see me performing everything from stand up to Bhangra dance.
I worked in the admissions office before being a coordinator and I had the chance to see how amazing this incoming class is. After meeting some of you over CPW, I'm more excited than ever to meet the rest of you in August. I'll be spending all summer preparing to make this the best introduction to MIT you could ever ask for! If you have any questions at all feel free to hit me up at triplett@mit.edu. Peace out!
