Laura Maxim
Graduate Assistant
Cheers to the class of 2015! I am delighted to be working with the Office of Undergraduate Advising and Academic Programming (UAAP) as a Graduate Intern this summer and am looking forward to welcoming you all to MIT very soon.
A bit about myself, I am currently pursuing my M.Ed. in the Administration of Higher Education at Suffolk University (just across the river from MIT). Why am I studying this field? Because I get to hang out with amazing students, such as yourselves! For fun I enjoy cooking, being creative, travelling, smiling, hip-hop dance and making people laugh. I also enjoy exploring the city of Boston and all it has to offer.
Having recently started my internship at MIT, I understand the emotions that you may be experiencing as you prepare to come to campus to begin your journey. It’s a mixture of excitement, anticipation, and maybe a little anxiety. I can tell you from experience that once you get to campus you will learn that MIT is an incredible community filled with caring people who can’t wait to help you achieve your goals. Enjoy your summer and get ready to have a great time at Orientation! See you soon!
